Durable Medical Equipment, or DME is a term coined by Medicare. Our industry uses it to refer to all basic home medical equipment (or HME).

Though the term is used in reference to the entire home equipment spectrum, it generally refers to ambulatory products such as walkers, wheelchairs, beds & commodes.
