Eclipse Portable Oxygen Concentrator

Eclipse oxygen concentratorThe Eclipse, by SeQual is a portable oxygen concentrator. It was developed under a grant from the U.S. Army to deliver battlefield oxygen to our soldiers. The Eclipse is the only portable concentrator that can deliver a continuous flow of oxygen (up to 3lpm). Above 3 liters per minute the concentrator delivers oxygen on a "pulse dose basis.

Patients who use a CPAP device and desire a portable concentrator the SeQual is the only option. You see, the other devices ("pulse dose") work by sensing each breath. Once it "feels" you beginning to breath it dispenses a precise amount of oxygen. The Eclipse on the other hand can produce a continuous flow just like a traditional home concentrator. Once again, it can do so up to 3 liters per minute.

The Eclipse is rugged and was designed to withstand 24/7 useage on a continuous basis. Complete it weighs approximately 17 pounds and can run for aproximately three hours on a charge.

It should be noted that all portable concentrators have roughly the same battery life. However, in our experience this is rarely a problem. First, most users purchase an extra battery which allows an additional three hours (6 hours on battery!) of use. Secondly, the unit comes with a car adapter that will both power the unit and charge the battery. You could of course always bring the wall adapter with you and plug in anywhere.

Traveling patients love the Eclipse. It is approved for use by the FAA and TSA. That means you can bring it on airplanes, cruise lines, and trains. The concentrator comes with a power supply that works both in the United States and internationally. Simply, you can plug in anywhere!

From our experience, patients have extraordinary success with the SeQual. It's only drawback is that it is somewhat larger than other portable concentrators like the Inogen and the Evergo. However, this extra size allows you to bring the power and reliability of a home unit with you anywhere you go. Finally, for those requiring a continuous flow it is the only portable concentrator on the market.
