BiPAP
Some patients require PAP (Positive Airway Pressure) but have difficulty exhaling against the pressure of a CPAP. A BiPAP (Bi-level Posative Airway Pressure) device is prescribed for these patients.

A BiPAP has two levels, one for inhaling and the other for exhaling. This allows the user to gain the full benefit of the therapy.

Your sleep study will indicate the type of PAP device that you require. If a BiPAP is indicated you will receive two pressure settings (high and low).

Bi-PAP’s use the same masks as CPAP’s.
At Diamond a respiratory therapist will assist you in mask selection and fitting.
