Walkers A walker is a device that gives the user stability while walking. Traditional walkers fold and are may have wheels on the front. Walkers without wheels are available and are called “pick-up walkers”. Your physician, or physical therapist will determine the best option for you. Rollators A rollator is a hybrid walker. They have four wheels and hand brakes. Other options include seats and baskets. Rollators come in a variety of colors and styles. Generally, insurance will pay for the least costly, medically necessary device. That’s usually a walker. If you prefer the features of a rollator you can upgrade. Just talk to your Diamond Care Coordinator, or your delivery technician for more information. Can I get a seat on my walker? Yes, seat attachments are available for walkers and come standard on rollators.
