Nebulizers

A small machine that turns your breathing medicine into a mist you breathe in through a mouthpiece or mask. We ship it across Riverside, San Bernardino, Orange, Los Angeles, and San Diego counties — and we can also have it ready for pickup in Riverside. Just call first and we'll let you know when it's ready.

Will insurance cover it?

Medicare, most major health plans, and managed care cover a nebulizer when your doctor orders it for a covered breathing medicine. We check your specific plan and tell you what's covered before anything is delivered.

Billing & insurance →

How fast can I get it?

We usually ship the same day we receive the order, and delivery generally takes one to two days. Prefer to pick it up in Riverside? Just call first and we'll let you know when it's ready.

What will I owe?

We tell you before delivery, not after. If there's a copay or a deductible on the machine, or on the cups, masks, and tubing, you'll hear it from us on the phone first.

What we carry

We stock compressor-style nebulizers. That's the kind most doctors prescribe for inhaled medicine. It plugs into a wall outlet and can handle thicker liquids, not just thin ones.

Cups, masks, mouthpieces, and tubing — the pieces that touch the medicine and your face. These are supplies. They wear out. Call us when you need more.

If your prescription calls for a different style, we'll let you know — we won't substitute a handheld or mesh unit without talking with you first.

Do I own or rent this equipment?

Plans do not all treat a nebulizer the same way. We check yours and tell you before it ships.

Medicare bills it as a capped rental. You rent it for 13 months. Once those months are paid, the machine is yours and you are responsible for it. Medicare treats the useful life as five years (60 months).

Other insurers — IEHP is one — often purchase the machine for you up front. In that case it is yours from the start.

The supplies are separate either way. Cups, masks, mouthpieces, and tubing are not a rental. Call us when you need more.

What you'll pay. You're responsible for any copay or deductible your plan doesn't cover. We tell you that on the phone first.

What to expect at delivery & setup

Most orders ship the same day we receive them. Delivery generally takes one to two days. The box has the machine and the first supplies.

If you'd prefer to pick it up, call (800) 977-3002 and we'll confirm it's ready for you at 1403 Palmyrita Ave in Riverside during business hours.

If you want someone to walk you through the first treatment after it arrives, call us. Dosing stays with your doctor and your pharmacy.

When it arrives

Have a small table or counter near an outlet ready — the kitchen or bedroom usually works well. It helps to have a small trash can nearby for used cups. If you're picking up, please call first and we'll let you know when your order is ready.

Office hours, not the 24/7 oxygen line. If the cup isn't misting, start with a clean cup and a fresh filter — see How to clean your nebulizer. If the compressor won't start, the tubing is cracked, or cleaning didn't bring the mist back, call (800) 977-3002 during the hours above. Phone is faster than email for equipment problems.

Common questions about nebulizers

Do I need a prescription for a nebulizer?

Yes. A nebulizer is prescribed by your doctor, usually along with the breathing medicine that goes in it. If you don't have an order yet, call us at (800) 977-3002 and we'll request it from your doctor's office.

How quickly can I get a nebulizer?

We usually ship the same day we receive the order, and delivery generally takes one to two days. Prefer to pick it up in Riverside? Just call first and we'll let you know when it's ready.

Will Medicare pay for it?

Usually, when your doctor has ordered a covered breathing medicine and the documentation is in place. That's what we request from your doctor's office. This applies to Medicare and to most other insurance. If there's any issue with your coverage, our team will be in touch to talk it through with you. Nothing here is a guarantee.

Do I own the nebulizer or rent it?

It depends on your plan. Medicare rents it for 13 months; after those months are paid, the machine is yours. Other insurers, including IEHP, often purchase it for you from the start. Supplies are ordered by calling us. See “Do I own or rent this equipment?” above.

How do I clean it?

Take it apart after a treatment the way you were shown. Wash the cup and mouthpiece or mask, and let them dry before the next use. Don't run water through the compressor. The step-by-step is on How to clean your nebulizer. If the mist is weak after a clean cup, call us.

Can I travel with it?

Yes. The compressor needs an outlet, so plan for that. Take your medicine, extra cups, and this number: (800) 977-3002. Airlines and TSA treat medical devices as medical devices — call the airline if you're flying.

What if it isn't misting?

Try a clean cup and a fresh set of supplies first. If that doesn't bring the mist back, or the compressor won't start, call (800) 977-3002 during office hours. Don't keep running medicine through a cracked cup.
